Year 6 Leavers

On Wednesday, 18th July 2012, the Yr6's performed their Leavers Production. It started of when the Yr6's were trying to escape the Lyndon Green Jungle.

Above are the Yr6 teachers. They are arguing over who's
was going to win the Jungle Title.

The teachers kept squabbling over who's class was the best. 6M's teacher started showing off the attendance certificates they had received over the year. They had 12! The others were annoyed with her boasting.

Some children from each of the classes sat around the golden task box. One of them opened the box and read the words: " You have to work together as a team together to perform a gymnastics presentation." The children did a great job. There was bridges, splits handstands and cartwheels. They worked extremeley hard to prepare their wonderful gym dance. Well done year 6!

Next they did the Hacker, the war dance. Unfortunatley, we didn't get any photos of this amazing piece of work, but we can tell you that it was amazing. They kept moving around the place it made eyes moved everywhere.

3C's assembly.

On Friday 29th June, 3C did  class assembly. The assembly was about showing us all how intelligent Yr3 are. It all started when doctor who landed in the middle of Lyndon Green Junior School.

The Doctor climbed out and Yr3 pupils met him. He said they weren't intelligent and they were determined to make him wrong. They led him to a field where some Yr 3's were being Roman Soldiers. They were moving by saying Sin and Dex Latin words meaning, Left and Right. They talked about how the Roman army worked. When the Soldiers left the Doctor said he still didn't think the pupils were very clever. Some pupils talked about their Roman dig day. They said the teachers had organised it for the children to try and find some ancient artefacts. Some people found crayons others found proper Roman coins. But the Doctor still didn't think they were     very clever!

Then they talked about their language alive session and how they but on hats and became different people. They said it helped them develop skills on describing a character and their feelings. The doctor said the Yr3's were finally showing they were intelligent.

They then told the Doctor about their visit to the dairy farm. They told the doctor lots of information about the dairy farm and he said they were getting there on the intelligence line.

They they brought up the Mad Science Scientists. They talked you through their stages of Science:

Slime
Detective Work &
Volcanoes.

After they walked off.

Then they finished the assembly with a good old dance to Katy Perry's Hot 'n' Cold.

3M's champions assembly

3M did an amazing assembly about the Olympic games and champions.
First they sang world look my way.

Then after the Olympic started with the ribbon dance.

They performed simple ribbon moves to great effect and moved beautifully and gracefully.
They were a spectacular opener for the 3M 2012 Olympics.

Then there was a brilliant gymnastics act. There was cartwheels, bridges and forward rolls. They said they worked hard every day practising hard till late. The whole idea was genius.

Then the basket ballers hit the floor. The dribbled, they passed and most importantly worked together as a team. They put on a show fit for kings and it felt like you were sitting at the stadium.

Then they danced about to Reach for the stars. They did a wiggle here and a jiggle there. It was really inspirational. Thanks 3M.

Country Day

U.S.A.
RUSSIA                ITALY       JAMACIA                             CANADA                 AUSTRALIA             SPAIN

These are just a few countries that were involved in our Country Day. We got passports to take down to the airport (A.K.A the hall). We got seated in the plane and we took off after a couple of delays like Helicopters passing by.

                                      U.S.A.

Then the planes landed and everyone was in a new country. People were in India, China etc. We are going to tell you about the states of America. In America their national anthem is called"The Star-Spangled Banner." We also learned that there is 50 states in America and the 50 stars on the banner represent them. We also saw Captain America!!!!! Really it's Mr Clarke in a costume. The capital of America is Washington D.C. The Capital of Washington D.C is Olympia.

                                              RUSSIA

Russia is the largest country in the world(and coldest). It homes the space shuttle company N.A.S.A, and Russian citizens wear traditional clothing and play with traditional toys such as babushka dolls. We then made our own babushka dolls using babushka doll templates, coloured card strips, glue, scissors and pencil crayons.

The class got the babushka templates and coloured their own designs. They cut them out, and stuck them to different sized coloured card strips, ( the biggest template goes with the biggest strip etc.) Then put them inside each other and you have made your own babushka doll!

                                           ITALY

In Italy, the first pizza was made. A chef thought one day he could make flat bread more interesting. He went home and added a sauce and put on toppings, red tomatoes, green herbs and white cheese. These stand for the colours on the Italian Flag. It was named after the Queen. We then made our own mini pizza's.

3G's assembly

On the 1st of June class 3G did their class assembly. It was on authors and the books they wrote.

First they did Cliffhanger. We met Tim,
Biscuits, Kelly and Michal and learnt their story.
They taught us how Michal was a busy body who
loved sports, Kelly was a stubborn girl who loved
her tiny doll, Tulisa, Biscuits was a boy who loved biscuits and Tim was a shy boy and a mummy's boy.

After they acted out part of the story of Bill's new Frock. Bill woke up in the morning and his ma told him to get into a pink polka dotted frock/dress. He was forced to wear it to school. His friends wouldnt let him play football and blamed him for wasting their break.

Next, outside they brought out the dasterdly Twits. Mrs Twit was digging up worms to put in Mr Twit's spaggetti to pay him back for the frog-in-the-bed-trick!

Mr Twit ate the spaggeti dish and he asked why his spaggeti was moving and bitter. Mrs Twit cried out 'cause it's worms, ha ha ha!'

To end their class assembley their class did an exellent dance for everyone!

10M's Assembly

On Friday 18th of May,10M showed the school their talent in their class assembly. They sang i can see a Rainbow, really well and caused some people to shed a tear. After that, they performed their own version of
Yr6's wake up shake up dance with their own drummer drumming the beat.

After that, The Crew performed BABY by Bieber. They had dancers, a singer(main) and a rapper.
It made many people wave their arms.

These are the people who introduced the violinists. The violinists were very good. They played BAA BAA BLACK SHEEP.
Lots of people sang along quietly so the musicians music could be heard.

After they sang head shoulders knees and toes!
They got 2 teachers to come up and dance. These were the headmaster and the sports teacher. Each time the song played words went missing and got replaced by funny noises. Once toes went missing the words came back, but the song got faster.

Now the assembly is done all the children are puffed out
and ready for a rest, we learn the football scores and go to  maths.
