St Patrick's Day Assembly

On the 23rd of March, class 4J did their excellent class assembly about St Patrick's day that wowed us all. Firstly they told us about the Irish Leprechaun, and that if we saw one never take your eyes off it if you wanted the pot of gold.

This is the Leprechaun that has been captured by St Patrick, he let the Leprechaun free because it told him where the pot of gold was. He marked out where the cactus was and ran for his shovel, but when he came back his mistake hit him in the head. The Leprechaun had marked the other cactuses with the same thing so he couldn't find the pot of gold.

Then they started to dance to the song 'she is the bell of Dublin City' It really made a difference when you saw the energetic side to the children and their performance!

Here is a very talented child, he played an Irish Gig on his Violin. It made every have a smile on their face and cheered everyone up.

Finally they produced an Irish River Dance for the school it was marvellous to see and everyone around them wanted to get up and join in. The dance itself was based on a video which was very complicated, so it gave 4J a chance to dance and to show their strength. It showed the proper Irish dance and people spinning round and most importantly pure happiness.

Well Done 4J! What a great morning we hope you produce the same effort in Yr 5. Keep it up!

Mad science is surely mad

I'm sure everyone enjoyed mad science. But I am talking  about  year 4s mad science week. What 4s did  was pretty good because we made volcanoes. 4J did goo, they had three colours which were purple, green and red. They all looked wicked. 4c did investigations about a cooking recipe and the suspects were Aunt Betty and Bill. Then they looked at who stole what ingredients.
Here are some of year 4 doing their presentation in the hall.

MAD SCIENCE!

On the 9th of March Lyndon Green Junior School had a team of scientists from Mad Science come in and gave us the chance to step in a scientist's shoes. First they did an assembly in front of the whole school. During the assembly they showed us the magic string trick. They cut it up into quarters and placed it inside a red bag. After a few attempts the magic string became whole again!

This is Babs she is a leaf blower and was an assistant to the Mad science (Man Below). He used a hair dryer and made a ping-pong ball float. But then he used a leaf blower, Babs (On the Right) to levitate a plastic blow up football. And it was really LOUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

He also introduced us to Egbert. The Egg (on the left). He is greedy. But it was his birthday and he wanted to get into his house to play on his Eggsbox 360. So they tried to get him into his house but he didn't fit. So they tried to get him in with fire. But he still did not go in because the scientist forgot to put the fairy liquid around the edge. But he still did not go in like he was meant to.

American Visitors

On the 5th of March 2012,we had visitors from America. They are currently here visiting some schools in Birmingham. They acted out a play from the Bible, which was similar to the good Samaritan. Mr Atkins made fun of their  accents and even called up a pupil from our school to repeat what they said in their own American accent. They are coming back tomorrow to watch some of our lessons.
