Country Day

U.S.A.
RUSSIA                ITALY       JAMACIA                             CANADA                 AUSTRALIA             SPAIN

These are just a few countries that were involved in our Country Day. We got passports to take down to the airport (A.K.A the hall). We got seated in the plane and we took off after a couple of delays like Helicopters passing by.

                                      U.S.A.

Then the planes landed and everyone was in a new country. People were in India, China etc. We are going to tell you about the states of America. In America their national anthem is called"The Star-Spangled Banner." We also learned that there is 50 states in America and the 50 stars on the banner represent them. We also saw Captain America!!!!! Really it's Mr Clarke in a costume. The capital of America is Washington D.C. The Capital of Washington D.C is Olympia.

                                              RUSSIA

Russia is the largest country in the world(and coldest). It homes the space shuttle company N.A.S.A, and Russian citizens wear traditional clothing and play with traditional toys such as babushka dolls. We then made our own babushka dolls using babushka doll templates, coloured card strips, glue, scissors and pencil crayons.

The class got the babushka templates and coloured their own designs. They cut them out, and stuck them to different sized coloured card strips, ( the biggest template goes with the biggest strip etc.) Then put them inside each other and you have made your own babushka doll!

                                           ITALY

In Italy, the first pizza was made. A chef thought one day he could make flat bread more interesting. He went home and added a sauce and put on toppings, red tomatoes, green herbs and white cheese. These stand for the colours on the Italian Flag. It was named after the Queen. We then made our own mini pizza's.
